Topic:Sheets vs Excel
Answer:
Excel is paid, Mate does not require buying a license. Google Sheets has the same capabilities — pivot tables, formulas, scripts. After Sheets, moving to Excel takes 1–2 days.
Mate academy as a rule does not require students to buy paid tools (Mate policy). Excel is paid (Microsoft 365 subscription), Excel online is not popular in business environments. Google Sheets gives all needed functions — formulas, pivot tables, visualizations, scripts (Apps Script) — at an "advanced+ user" level sufficient for 99% of junior DA work. That is an advanced user in business terms, "middle" level for a DA. With Google Sheets advanced experience, moving to Excel takes at most 1–2 days (similar interface, similar formulas, most PL work uses spreadsheet-type tools that are interchangeable). Some Polish firms use Excel exclusively (banks, corporations), others Google Workspace (startups, scale-ups). Mate teaches Sheets — you can work in any company after a short ramp-up (source: Mate academy data 2026).
